Steven and Christine had a vision for their wedding day. That vision was for the two of them to be married in a winter wonderland in Lake Tahoe. Just the two of them and their officiant, Lake of the Sky Weddings, was all they needed to say “I-Do!” I was there to help capture those candid moments and additional angles during the ceremony as Rev Dorey was capturing images as well. After the most perfect, intimate Lake Tahoe elopement, I had the opportunity to show Steven and Christine around the lake. Since the wind was blowing and flurries of snow were making the day very cold, we were able to capture only a few additional special memories for these two.
A few days before Steven and Christine’s wedding date, Tahoe was blessed with a fresh blanket of snow. This was so exciting because one of the must-have images was the two of them on a dock with snow. Well, not many docks around Lake Tahoe are public and most of the public parks were closed for the season. Luckily, we found this cute, snow-covered, unoccupied public dock. The moody clouds in the sky made for some gorgeous images, but the fierce wind coming off of lake chilled us to the bone! With a couple quick clicks of the camera we hurried back into our vehicles. Now it was time for lunch and, of course, I suggested the locals pub – Bridgetender! In typical Lake Tahoe spirit, as soon as the bride and groom walked thru the door, people were asking if they could buy the newlyweds a drink.
After our delicious lunches, we made our way over to the Gatekeepers Museum to get as close to the water as possible. The snow was really starting to come down and the visibility across the lake was just about gone. Nonetheless we got some more gorgeous images for these two to remember their Lake Tahoe Elopement and best day ever!
