Emerald & Douglas Celebrate their Love with a Beautiful Wedding in Auburn CA.

Emerald & Douglas are two extremely creative and talented people, both professional artists with their own mediums, I knew their wedding day was going to be filled with all sorts of handmade details. From succulents, to manzanita, lavender and hints of baby breath everything looked so simple yet elegant with their venues backdrop. A wedding in Auburn CA meant lots of trees and the beautiful property we were on was surrounded by gorgeous trees. This made for an intimate backyard wedding but Emerald and Doug were really excited about one thing, marrying each other and celebrating their love.

I am lucky enough to have known Emerald when we were younger, back in High School, and after their engagement session I was certain that Emerald wouldn’t be wearing a traditional wedding gown. She was going to find something pretty and unique to her style and she sure did. She found the most gorgeous dress from Bloomingdales, and it complimented her unique and charming style. Full length teal dress with lace and open in the back along with her bright red, soft curls in her hair, she looked like absolutely stunning.

After we got Emerald into her gown and Douglas was dressed and mustache was prepped it was time for these two to do a first look. The main objective, to get as many photos done pre-ceremony. Quickly guests started to arrive and everyone was taking their places for the ceremony to begin. The entire ceremony’s music consisted of Star Trek songs to satisfy their inner Trekkie as well as the entire vows were heartfelt and hand written by themselves. Their Celebrant, Cindie Wilding did an amazing job making the entire ceremony extremely meaningful and the tears of happiness were coming down so many of their friends and family members cheeks. I could truly feel the love and support that these two have at that exact moment.

The night time shenanigans were ready to begin and people were excited to try all the different foods prepared. Emerald and Douglas did their reception dinner a little differently by turning it into a pot luck, this was an awesome added touch as everyone got to try something new and different and the bride and groom get recipes for each dish and can recreate them later on in their marriage. As the night went on the bonfires were lit and Emerald and Douglas were glowing in their love for each other. I am so honored to share this magical wedding in Auburn CA and I wish these two a lifetime of happiness!
