Katie & John’s wedding was at Tannenbaum, an Alpine Events Center, located in Reno Nevada on Mount Rose Hwy. The venue is nestled in pine trees with stunning views of the mountains and valley below with an awesome onsite manager, Julie Nobis. This was the perfect place for these two to say, “I do”.
While one might try to predict the mountain weather in May, it would be only a guess. With rain in the forecast, there was nothing the couple could do but prepare for the possibility of having an indoor ceremony. They decided to hold two rehearsals, one indoor and one out.
During a break in the showers, just after a light sprinkling of hail, the groom and his groomsmen quickly toweled off the chairs and ushered the guests to their seats. This couple really wanted to be married outside! Surrounded by all their loved ones these two were married with the stunning mountains and nature all around them.
Katie looked gorgeous in her Alfred Angelo wedding gown. I was in awe of her attached capelet with pearls and crystals. The vintage inspired gown was truly one of a kind. To complete the outfit, Katie, adorned herself with a bird cage veil and crystal hair clip. Flowers were done by Petal to the Metal with lots of greens and white and hints of blue. I am always a sucker for the succulents. They can be replanted so a piece of the bouquet will always be alive! Bridesmaids wore blue dresses and the greens in the bouquets really popped out.
John and his groomsmen looked very dapper. The best part was the socks. The guys were laughing, saying I must be a spokesperson for the socks because I kept asking them to show them off. The coolest part about this group was the relationship between the groom and his best man, his son. I just loved watching and capturing the relationship between father and son. The entire bridal party was a blast and they kept the fun coming.
Introduced into their reception with aviator glasses and dancing to Top Gun’s “Danger Zone,” the newlyweds were ready to party! While eating a delicious dinner, served by Perfect Pear (Blend Catering), guests were able to enjoy expansive views and an artfully decorated dining hall, which features a rustic, double-sided fireplace. As soon as everyone was fed, it was time for the newlyweds to mingle. The night went on and this group was so much fun. The sun went down and the music got louder. With excellent DJ styling by Do Well Events, the dance floor was never empty. One of the best surprises of the evening was when the bride and her father did a choreographed dance to Up Town Funk. The tables were beautifully detailed with wine glasses as vases and blue and green table runners. My favorite table was the cake table. They couldn’t decide on just one flavor, so why not multiple? Delicious Designs did an amazing job and the table was gorgeous!
